That’s a wrap on Sea Dreams Art Camp : Summer 2025! 🐚🎨✨
The past 3 days were full of color, laughter, singing, and so much creativity.
We made art, we made memories, we made magic.

One of my favorite quotes from a student this week:
“Wait a second… this feels more like play camp!” 💬
And honestly? That’s the point.

At Art Pwer, we believe art is play. It’s healing. It’s expression.
Sure, we built skills like mixing colors, creating values, experimenting with textures, sculpting, collaging, and even printmaking.
But we did it all through joy, curiosity, and a little creative chaos. 🌀

Because technique comes with time…
But imagination? That spark? It can fade fast when things get too rigid.
We protect that spark here. We nurture it.

Why do I care so much?

Because I remember being her.
the little girl with colors in her hand✨
making magic out of messes,
feeling brave every time someone said, “That’s beautiful.” 🎨

She’s still here.
And every time I teach, I’m showing her , and every artist, young and old, that their creativity matters.
That they matter.
That it’s okay to make a mess, take up space, and express themselves boldly.

Because I’ve seen how art heals, empowers, and reminds us who we are.

🌊 Day 1 of Sea Dreams Art Camp was a splash! 🐠✨
We explored Japanese-style Gyotaku fish printmaking, experimented with bubble painting to mimic coral textures, and played with watercolor magic using salt + rubbing alcohol. 🎨🫧
Our young artists also practiced observational drawing with a collection of real shells 🐚 all textures we’ll transform into ocean collages later this week!

Tomorrow is sculpture day and we can’t wait to dive in! 🐙🧜‍♀️

Our Studio Star this week is Shrihaan!🥳
I’ve loved watching Shrihaan grow as an artist this semester! He’s focused, thoughtful, and always brings his best effort to the studio. His piece “Colors of the Wild” shows just how much his skills have sharpened, especially in layering and detail with colored pencils. He’s also become more confident in trying new techniques and trusting his instincts , which makes his quote even more perfect: “Don’t keep worrying about what is going to happen next, just do it!” ✨

Briley is getting close to a year at Art Pwer, and she’s grown tremendously—both in her artistic skills and as a shining light in our studio family. From day one, she’s brought a mix of natural talent, curiosity, and determination that continues to inspire everyone around her. Watching Briley grow has been a true joy—she’s blossomed into a thoughtful, focused, and fearless young artist who’s not afraid to take on a challenge and make it her own.
